Our Story
In 1985, the Hale family, remodeled the property located at 320 Walnut Avenue in Carlsbad California and created a four room Inn and named it The Pelican Cove Inn.
During construction, mid 80's
Completed 4 room Inn
In 1990, they purchased the property adjoining the Pelican Cove Inn property to the east.
During construction, early 90's
The two buildings were adjoined and four more guest rooms, a conference room and Innkeepers quarters were added. This created the current layout of the Pelican Cove Inn.
In 1994, the Nayudu's, purchased the Pelican Cove Inn. They built a house for themselves next to the Inn in 2003 and converted the area where they had lived (the Innkeepers quarters and the conference room) into two additional guest rooms.
The Inn had a change of ownership in June of 2022 and is currently owned by a local investor who also happens to be a Carlsbad native.
The Pelican Cove Inn today stands as a 10 room inn, still perfectly charming as the Hale family intended nearly 40 years ago.
